Learning to love what is

Today is the “Procession of the Species” parade in our town. The entire town comes out to see this awesome annual event where people dress up as parts of nature. My family has walked as butterflies, I’ve been Mother Earth, and we’ve watched it for years.

This year, we are under the weather and missing the parade. It’s a bummer because we had plans to meet friends and we love the festivities.

We instead we have lazed around, taken naps, baths, read books and watched movies. It’s been a lovely day really. It reminds me of that great quote, “life is what happens when you are making plans”.

Life happened today, it might not have been what we planned but it was good. Learning to love what is, brings more happy than the expectations we set up for ourselves. Here’s to learning to love what is.
