My moon

The Earth pulls the apples off trees,
The Moon tugs the tides to and fro.

Gravity pulls us closer,

When I don’t think my eyes can open more,
your gaze beckons me to see.

From across the miles,
I hear you whisper my name.

When you’re traveling with others, laughing,
the corners of my mouth turn up in a smile.

Natural love,
draws us to each other.

So many moons have I watched rise in the sky thinking of you.

Tonight, I want you to be my moon.

And I want you to stay shining at me for a very long time.
